<description>The interactive artwork 'Country of No Dreams’ reflects on one of Greece’s most significant problems: Youth Unemployment. The future of a country is left with no hope, as almost half the population in Greece aged 15-29 is currently unemployed.

Upon proximity of the spectator, the interactive frame starts moving to indicate the change in data, whilst repressing the little stick-man’s ability to dream.

**more pics coming soon**

The artwork was shortlisted for the Constance Fairness Foundation prize and exhibited at the Royal College of Art in December 2011.

<description>The Future of Labour workshop realised by i-School/ University of Tokyo, Tohoku University and the Innovation Design Engineering (IDE) Programme at the Royal College of Art (London) has as a goal to investigate the future of labour in post disaster situations.

We strongly believe that when a community is hit by a big natural disaster, it is fundamental to rebuild its infrastructure in order to restore its economy. A community’s infrastructure is entwined with employment and work, not only because an immense part of everyday social transactions are based on them but also because it is what primarily drives local economies.

In order to accomplish that, this workshop blended the local culture of Kesennuma with future global trends. Exploring the needs, behaviours and dreams of the local residents leads to perceptive understanding of the culture and traditions of Kesennuma. On the other hand, incorporating global trends related to the future of work into the infrastructure of a community that starts as a “clean slate” can lead to groundbreaking results.
For more details please read the workshop overview Revival &#124; Pride of Kesennuma

<description>Curation, exhibition design &#38; construction of the Innovation Design Engineering Show

The aim was to create a space that is clean and easy to navigate with a natural sense of flow and a lot of dwell space. Although it is accommodating the work of 37 MA students and 10 group projects the gallery still feels open. The amount of information displayed is enough to get the audience intrigued and help in understanding the projects without becoming intrusive or overloaded. Everything, from the lighting to the business cards, is designed with attention to detail and is there to create a clear and cohesive narrative.

Is possible to create an object that becomes a different entity when used?
By drilling holes into tumblers and covering them up with elastic membranes, I wanted to investigate how the tactile aesthetics of the vessel could change when filled up with water. The outcomes were engaging, not only because of the physical deformation but also because the tumbler turned into a new sensorial experience with a layer of liquid between the user's hands and the solid boundary of the object.

What if tumblers were made out of sponge?
Perhaps we would squeeze them to drink..

<description>TED is a nonprofit organisation devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California 25 years ago, TED has grown to support those world-changing ideas with multiple initiatives. In April 2011, the second TEDx event of Thessaloniki was carried out, bringing to Greece and the world (as all talks are recorded and broadcasted online), leading local and international thinkers and practitioners. For this event, which has the theme "Why not?", I joined the TEDx team designing the gift bags, pens and badges.

As the essence of TED is spreading ideas, the thinking behind the design of the bag is inspired by the TED values. The concept stems from the design of a unique bag, primarily used in Greek grocery stores, and which is now becoming obsolete. Therefore, an iconic object is now taken out of context and introduced in a formal event like TEDx; instead of fresh apples you receive fresh ideas in a bag. All the graphics and slogans play on this particular theme but instead of being printed they are impressed on the bags by a series of rubber stamps. Encapsulating the unity in collaboration among the TEDx team, each bag is stamped individually by us and is therefore unique. Moreover, the concept is demonstrating that one can be innovative with a very low budget and can come up with inspiring outcomes, a fact quite important in these times of economic recession.

<description>Can we design objects whose aesthetics are revealed through sound?

During my initial investigation in acoustics, I got really interested in Helmholtz resonance. The Helmholtz equation acted as a springboard for what I called "the bubble experiment". I connected a tumbler with tubes and volumetric vessels trying to form sound boxes.

By placing volumetric tubes of different volumes and different neck diameters the amount of bubbles changed creating an interesting effect. Τhe system was connected in different heights thus responding to different water levels. By tilting when drinking the user can get aural feedback of the water level through a playful interaction.

		<description>A Dreambathroom for the elderly

**This page is currently being updated. Please revisit in a couple of days! Thank you**

Reasearch has shown that one of the most problematic procedures that elderly and people with disabilities face, is the entrance in the bathtub. Onair is a self-existing unit, an appealing space which suspends on the facade of the building, thus allowing the integration of a ramp without adjusting the flat’s flooring. Onair diverges from the traditional, restricted bathroom and consists a “bridge” between the house and the environment.
The hygiene facilities, are pulled out of the shadows, thrust into public view and turned into a living space for everybody. Onair is an unleveled bath, where the user can enter gradually and calmly into a space surrounded entirely by water, with the body losing its sense of gravity and the visual range expanded to the horizon, transcending all spatial restrictions. <description>Crush me is a garlic crusher designed and prototyped within a week. It’s function is very simple, effective, fun and most of all clean!
How to use:
1. Chuck your garlic in the container
2. Smash!
